Unfortunately we cannot offer psychotherapy in english at the moment. As soon as our english speaking therapists have free capacities again, we will inform you here. In the meanwhile we kindly ask you to not send any requests, as we don’t have a waiting list. Thank you for your understanding and we apologize for not being able to help you at the moment.

We offer Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT, Verhaltenstherapie) in English with therapists who are licensed to practice psychotherapy in Germany/Berlin.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy focuses on thoughts and behavior and how these influence your mental health. We integrate the traditional CBT approach with more recent developments in the field of psychotherapy such as Schematherapy and Acceptance-Commitment-Therapy.

CBT has proven to be an effective treatment for unipolar and bipolar depression, panic disorder, social phobia, generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), adaptation disorder, and somatization disorder.

You can find some general information on psychotherapy and the treatment of mental illness in Germany in the following brochure by the German Federal Chamber of Psychotherapists: http://www.bptk.de/fileadmin/user_upload/Publikationen/BPtK_Infomaterial/Wege_zur_PT/BPtK_Paths_To_Psychotherapy.pdf

For more specific questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch via email/telephone in our practice in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg.

Private health insurance

If you are with a private health insurance, please contact your insurance company to find out whether psychotherapy is covered by your contract and if so, how many sessions are covered.

Public health insurance

If you are with the public health insurance, you can apply for your insurance to cover the costs of the therapy if you have been declined by at least 5 CBT-Psychotherapists who have a direct license for the public health system (reimbursement plan).

You can find psychotherapists who have a direct license for the public health system here (link : https://www.kvberlin.de/60arztsuche/schnellsuchep.html). To be able to prove that you were not able to get therapy through the public system, please write down the names of the therapists you contacted and the date you contacted them on.

If you have been declined by at least 5 of these psychotherapists, please do not hesitate to get in touch and we will help you with the application for the reimbursement plan.

The cost of a session is based on the German Scale of Fees for Psychotherapists and is 100,55 €.
